KUALA LUMPUR: The government must enforce more inclusive health insurance policies for senior citizens, as most insurers currently limit coverage to those below 70 or 80 years old.
KUALA LUMPUR: The government must enforce more inclusive health insurance policies for senior citizens, as most insurers currently limit coverage to those below 70 or 80 years old.
Malaysian Coalition on Ageing chairman Cheah Tuck Wing said that due to this limit, many elderly Malaysians are left unprotected, particularly as rising insurance premiums make coverage increasingly unaffordable.
Following this, Cheah added that the government should also subsidise medical insurance, particularly for lower-income groups and senior citizens, to ensure fair and inclusive health insurance policies.
